Welcome
A huge welcome to today’s fabulous guests: Carrie Eddins and Julie Ward. We’re diving into media visibility, mindset and coaching, and—if we fancy—a sprinkling of tax sense. Expect a warm, lively conversation with practical tips you can use straight away.

Guest Spotlight: Julie Ward — From Tax Expertise to Coaching Insight
About Julie
Julie Ward brings 38 years of professional tax experience and a big, empathetic heart to her new path in coaching. Based in Orpington, Kent—and a married mum of three boys—Julie understands the daily juggle and the real-world challenges behind the numbers. Her mission now: help people find clarity, confidence, and momentum in their careers and lives.
Conversation Themes
How coaching changes the way we see:
What does “insight” truly mean in practice? Julie explores how coaching helps you notice patterns, make better decisions, and trust your inner compass.
Energy, awareness, and small shifts:
How micro-adjustments in thinking and habits create big results at work and at home.
If we get happily nerdy about tax:
Julie can talk tax until the cows come home—so we’ll touch on a couple of listener-friendly nuggets, including:
o What “Making Tax Digital” means and how to prepare.
o Favourite “no-drama” habits that make year-end simpler.
o Why clarity beats complexity in both coaching and compliance.
Takeaways from Julie
Insight starts with curiosity and honest reflection.
Confidence grows when you commit to small, consistent actions.
Whether it’s tax or life decisions, simple systems reduce stress.

Sadly, our fabulous friend Sian Murphy couldn’t join us today due to a broken foot – wishing you a speedy recovery, Sian 💐.
But what a treat we had in the studio – I was absolutely thrilled to welcome KEREN LERNER. It’s been far too long since we last caught up, and having her live on the show was a real joy.
Meet Keren Lerner
Keren is the Founder and CEO of Top Left Design, a boutique branding and web design agency in London. Since 2002, she has helped hundreds of businesses across different industries create websites and content that reflect their true value.

Top Tips for Web Design Success
Keren shared some of her insider wisdom on what makes a great website and why bespoke design really matters. Here are her highlights:
Clarity beats complexity – Simple, clear messaging always wins. Confused visitors don’t convert.
Your website is never “done” – Treat it as a living, evolving part of your business.
Design with empathy – Consider how your audience feels when they land on your site.
Don’t hide your personality – Let your voice and values shine through – people connect with people!
Consistency builds trust – Align your website, social media, visuals, and messaging.
Embrace continuous improvement – Small, regular updates can lead to big results.
LinkedIn matters – Your profile and banner are your digital first impression. Stay active to stay remembered.
Celebrations & Shout-Outs
Of course, we had to celebrate Keren’s 50th birthday 🎂 – what a milestone! Thank you for sharing your favourite music picks with us too, Keren.

Hanging Out with The Menopause Gang - Episode 135
Thursday Oct 02, 2025
Thursday Oct 02, 2025
Hello lovely listeners! A huge welcome to another episode with The Menopause Gang. I’m joined once again by the fabulous Fiona Catchpowle, Dr. Patsy Rogers, Siobhan Barry, and Jo de Serrano. Today’s chat is full of real talk, practical tips, and some laughs along the way.
Meet Jo de Serrano
This week we shine a light on Jo de Serrano, a Professional Organiser based in London. Jo’s story is inspiring—after a career in banking, humanitarian aid, government work, and even leading a charity (earning her an OBE and Honorary Doctorate!), she decided in 2023 to follow her passion for order and organisation.
Jo combines her natural love of structure (thanks to ASD) and her lived experience of ADHD to help people—both neurodivergent and neurotypical—create calmer homes and clearer minds.
Jo’s Big Messages
No shame here! Inviting a professional organiser into your home shouldn’t be scary. Jo has seen it all and it’s completely confidential.
Think of it as an investment in yourself, not a cost—just like going to the gym for your health.
Visual clutter = mental clutter. Sorting out your stuff helps your head feel lighter too.
She’s not about throwing everything away—it’s about being intentional with what you keep and how you use it.
Her golden nugget? The Container Rule: everything has its place, and you don’t need to go beyond it.
Jo’s Free Webinar + Special Offer
📅 Mark your diaries! Jo’s running a free webinar on 6th October all about decluttering, ADHD, disorganisation and how it links with peri/menopause. You’ll pick up loads of tips.
👉 Register Here
🎁 Podcast listeners get 30% off Jo’s services. Just email hello@neat-tidy.co.uk or text 07769 065404 with code LDBR30.
Fiona Catchpowle
Fiona dived into the world of period pain, heavy bleeding and PMS, and how these overlap with perimenopause. Both are linked by our ovarian rhythms—that sensitivity to change in our bodies.
💡 Fiona’s top tip: Keep a journal and track your cycle. It’s the best way to tune in to your body and build your own toolkit for support.
Dr. Patsy Rogers
Dr. Patsy was on hand too, sharing her wisdom and adding her unique voice to our conversations on health, wellbeing, and navigating change.
Siobhan Barry
Although Siobhan couldn’t stay the whole time, she still dropped in with some brilliant contributions that got us all thinking.
Celebrations
🎂 A very Happy Birthday to Will (Dr. Patsy’s brother) and to everyone else celebrating this week!
💌 And as always, sending huge hugs across the globe to anyone going through a tricky time—you’re not alone.
Coming Up Next Week
We’ve got two amazing guests lined up for you:
✨ Keren Lerner – Top Left Design
✨ Sian Murphy – The Women in Business Big Show
You won’t want to miss it!
Wrap Up
Thanks as always for joining us for another episode with The Menopause Gang. Stay safe, take care, and I’ll see you same time, same place next week.

Married with two children and the proud Nanny of five grandchildren, Sue lives life to the full. She loves family time, travel, dining out, and keeps herself strong in both mind and body through regular gym sessions.
Sue is the Founder and Owner of Westmeria Counselling Services, and we discussed:
Shifting Perspectives – How attitudes towards mental health have changed since the charity began, and whether these changes have brought more positives than challenges.
Future Growth – With the recent opening of a new building that houses both a counselling college and more therapy space, Sue reflected on how this expansion will transform the charity and what further support would help them go even further.

This week on the show, I’m joined by the incredible Gem O’Reilly, international country singer-songwriter and guitarist, with special thanks to Chris Groundsell for his guitar.
Dubbed by BBC Radio as “The British Taylor Swift”, Gem has been making waves in the music industry since she was signed at just 17. With a No. 7 hit in the UK Country Charts and four original albums broadcast across national BBC Radio, she’s a true force in modern country music.
Her latest release, Fire, dropped in late 2024, showcasing four brand-new songs recorded live with her band at a festival. You can find it now on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major music platforms.
